2024 MHC Submission Rules:

Deadline for consideration is December 17^th, 2023.

The applicants selected for the Final 10 competition will be notified on December 31st, 2023.

The 2023 Mika Hasler Competition Final 10 Judging Recital will take place at a January 14, 2024 at 9:00 AM online with a zoom call with the judges.

The Winner’s Concert will be Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. at Rice University Duncan Hall.

To be considered for the 2024 10th Annual Mika Hasler Competition, please upload a *private* video audition to YouTube and share the video with mhyac2016@gmail.com.

Important: You must set the video you submit to Private, and SHARE THE VIDEO with mhyac2016@gmail.com in the Private Share settings of the video.

Instructions for setting video to private and sharing with us

If the video is already posted:
1 – Sign in to the YouTube account.
2 – Find the Creator Studio dashboard page.

This can be found by first going to youtube.com, clicking your account icon found in the top right corner of the screen, which will bring down a small menu, then click the “Creator Studio” button.
Alternately, just go to this link: https://www.youtube.com/dashboard?o=U

3 – Find your audition video in the “Videos” section of the screen, click the down arrow next to the Edit button next to the video, and click “Info and Settings”.

This will take you to the settings page for the video.

4 – Set the video setting to Private if it isn’t already. This is in an option box located next to the name of the video.

5 – Click the “Share” button found right below the “Private” option box. (Note: it will not appear until you set it to Private)
Add mhyac2016@gmail.com to the list of people to share the video with.
Then click “OK”.

6 – Click “Save Changes” at the bottom right when you are done.

If you have not yet posted the video:
1 – On the video upload page, set the video setting to “Private”. This is found in the option box right next to the name of the video. By default it is set to public. Click the box and select Private.

(To upload a video, simply sign in to your account, go to youtube.com home page, and click the Upload icon found next to your Account icon in the top right corner of the screen. This will bring you to a page to select a video file to upload from your computer or phone. This brings you to the video upload page)

2 – Click the “Share” button right underneath the box that says “Private”. (Note: it will not appear until you set it to Private)
Add mhyac2016@gmail.com to the list of people to share the video with. Then click “OK”.

3 – Then click the “Done” button once the video is finished uploading and processing says it’s complete.

Deadline for consideration is December 17^th, 2023.

An entry fee of $90.00 must be sent to 15919 Clearcrest Drive, Houston, TX 77059 by December 17th, 2023. Please make the check out to Mika Hasler Competition.

Mika Hasler Competition will not process any application without a working YouTube submission and payment.

Each applicant must also print out and sign a hard copy of our Rules and Eligibility page (found here: Rules and Eligibility)

All applications must be uploaded to website and a hard copy with particulars and a check mailed to the P.O address above.

Application Submission Checklist:

1 – Upload video audition to a private youtube video. Be sure to set video to PRIVATE. You will also need to add mhyac2016@gmail.com to the Share option settings of the video.

2 – Fill out and submit online submission form at the top of this page.

3 – Mail the following to the P.O. box listed above

3a – A hand signed copy of our Rules and Eligability page

3b – Check with $90.00 made out to Mika Hasler Competition.

3c – A piece of paper with the name of the applicant, address, telephone number, and email address
